The Government Delivery Services (GDS) has conducted a one-day inspection of the ongoing national government projects in Migori County, a head of President William Ruto's tour of the region next week.

The GDS, led by its Secretariat, Mr. Silvanus Osele, noted that the inspection is among other routine round-ups to monitor, verify, and establish the progress of the projects across the country.

The team made a stopover at Migori-Isebania's last-mile water project connectivity in Sorore, Kuria West Sub County, the Gogo dam power project in Uriri Sub County, and the Housing project at Mabera Sub County, which are some of the national projects being undertaken in Migori County.

Mr Osele said that the Migori-Isebania last-mile water project connectivity will cost Sh. 350 million connecting 2,000 households in addition to the previous 700. The project will be able to produce 3,000 cubic metrics per day.

The official added that Gogo Dam, a power project will be expanded to produce an additional eight Megawatts to the initial two Megawatts to inject it into the national grid.

Osele also noted that the Housing project at Mabera was at two percent while the 300 million block was also under construction at Rongo University.

At Rongo University, the GDS inspected the complete construction of an academic block funded by the government, the ongoing construction computer library, and a water project which is to serve the community around the campus.

Nyanza Regional Commissioner, Flora Mworoa who was also with the team, said that the inspection was a normal government routine to access the ongoing government to establish their progress and ensure they met the set completion datelines.

She noted that once the projects are ready for commission, they will be handed over to serve the public which is their main intended purpose.

The team was accompanied by Migori County Commissioner Mr. David Gitonga, Mr. Ochengo Onguso from the GDS, and the county security team.
