Governor Mutua: Ruto called me after Azimio demand

Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) party leader Alfred Mutua has claimed that Deputy President (DP) William Ruto called him, after calling for inclusivity in the Azimio la Umoja - One Kenya coalition.
At a press conference n Wednesday, April 06, 2022, the Machakos County governor alongside other leaders called for inclusivity in the running the affairs of the coalition, which brings together over 20 political parties.
The leaders said that as things stand now, ODM, Jubilee and Wiper leaders are running the show in the coalition, at the expense of leaders of fringe political parties.

[Photo: Alfred Mutua Twitter][/caption]After that presser, Mutua says he saw a missed call from the DP, revealing that he has the option of joining the Kenya Kwanza alliance, headed by the DP if the status quo in Azimio remains.
"We still have time. There is the option of joining Kenya Kwanza. I saw a missed call this morning from DP Ruto. His people have been calling me for weeks," Mutua said while appearing on Citizen TV on the morning of Thursday, April 07, 2022.
The Azimio la Umoja - One Kenya Alliance is headed by Raila Odinga.
"It is not that we are lost for options. What we want is to be treated with respect because we are doing this for Raila Odinga. We will not agree to be tricked," he added.
"The other four options are that I can decide as Maendeleo Chap Chap get out and continue on its own and we will negotiate as a party after the elections. We decided yesterday that we can form our own coalition, Mwanzo Mpya, and it can be the fourth pillar in Azimio or negotiate later."
