Homa Bay County Sends enforcement officers for Paramilitary Training

Two hundred and fifty law enforcement officers in Homa Bay are undergoing paramilitary training at Forest Law Enforcement Academy in Londiani, Kericho county.

The officers who were sent to the academy on Saturday will receive training on discipline, competency and other law enforcement skills that will enhance their capabilities while undertaking their duties.

 Homa Bay County Executive Committee Member for Governance, Administration, Communication and Devolution, Grace Mercy Osewe said the officers will perform their duties with decorum and professionalism once they get back to their day-to-day operations.

 She added it is their commitment to equip their officers with skills and knowledge to effectively serve the residents and ensure a more secured county.

“We have sent these officers for personal, physical and professional training, because they are our interface with the community and so it is important that they are professional and disciplined,” said Osewe.

The Chief Officer for Administration, Isaac Ongiri said after the training, the 202 men and 48 women officers will qualify for promotion under the newly structured county Inspectorate Scheme of Service.

“We have developed a scheme of service that we will use to implement the upgrading structure of the officers like creating a leadership structure within the inspectorate as soon as they return,” he said.

He noted that the county is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in law enforcement through capacity building.
