Janeiro Academy Produces Top Student in Homa Bay

Janeiro Junior Academy has joined the rest of the country to celebrate its exemplary performance in the region in the released Kenya Certificate of Primary Education results.

With 122 candidates who sat for the national examination, the school attained a mean grade of 392.29, hence topping all the other schools.

Over 50 students scored 400 marks and above, with the best achieving 419 marks.

According to the school head teacher Mr Philip Aduda, this year’s exam has been the best performed since the academy was founded.

He appreciated the teachers for their teamwork which he termed as the catalyst for the school’s good performance.

“I attribute our good performance to the cooperation between our teachers and the parents,” Aduda added.

An overjoyed Joy Akinyi who attained 419 marks and was in the lead in county attributed her good results to her teachers and parents.

She said with the support of her teachers, she was able to work hard to be at the top.

Akinyi who is a disciplined and dedicated learner hailing from a humble background has hopes of joining Alliance Girls High School.

“I expected to get 415 marks but not 419. I really thank God for the best he has given me. My dream school is Alliance girl’s high school,” she added.

Akinyi was followed in a performance by Otieno Jefferson Odhiambo with 412 marks and Okumu Jesse Otieno with 408 marks.

The candidate who least performed managed 332 marks.
