Joy for traders as Cruise ship with over 2300 tourists docks in Mombasa

Business operators from Mombasa have earned a reason to smile as a Luxury cruise liner called "Norwegian Dawn" docked at the Port of Mombasa early Sunday morning.
About 2300 passengers and 1100 crew were on board the luxury ship many set for holidays in Mombasa, Tanzania and Zanzibar.
The cruise vessel which came from Seychelles was the first to dock in Mombasa this year.
Over 2000 passages from 54 nationalities disembarked from the LAO of 294 meters
with majority in the Kenyan coast for excursions, to explore the pristine white sandy beaches and national parks.
Kenya Ports Authority Managing Director Captain William Ruto who piloted the vessel to berth number one, appreciated the call reiterating KPA’s support for cruise tourism in the country through investment in infrastructure to position the Port of Mombasa as a cruise tourism hub.
KPA Chairman Hon. Benjamin Tayari in a statement noted that the visit affirms Kenya a tourism hub in Africa.
Captain William Ruto confirmed that the Mombasa port will yet again receive another cruise ship next Month.
The port has been busy on cruise business with a cargo vessel docked at the port on maiden voyage just few days ago while another Cruise MV Bollete with over 900 passengers on board docking in the port on December.
