Kajiado hospital receives maternity medical equipment worth Sh1.6 million

Kajiado County Referral Hospital has received maternity medical equipment worth Sh1.6 million donated by Jifunze International and its partners that will help in the pediatric wing.
The medical equipment was received by Kajiado CEC Health, Alex Kilowua and other hospital officials.
The maternity equipment donated were 3 maternity beds, 2 maternity wheelchairs, 1 feral monitor, 4 nebulizers, 2 suction machines, 4 BP machines, 2 vital signs monitors, 4 pulse oximeter with stand, 2 SPO2 sensor child and 3 Sono trax.
Health CEC Kilowua said that the equipment will improve the outcome of the pediatric wing and thanked the organisation for the donations.
Victoria Porter from Jifunze international said that, the Newborn Baby Unit (NBU) will help in admission and prevent cases of newborn deaths in the county.
"Today we are here to deliver Sh1.6 million worth of medical equipment for the Newborn Baby Unit and we hope that the equipment will prevent deaths and improve on the Newborn Baby admissions," said Porter.
Porter also appreciated their partners, Rotary International D9560, Rotary EClub of Outback Australia, Rotary Club of Cairns Trinity, Emily's Hope, Mary Ede and the Ede family for their donations as well as Kajiado county government for working with them and receiving the donations.
The patient monitor donated can be used to measure pressure, the heartbeat, check whether the patient has enough oxygen, do scanning of the baby while in the womb and also monitor the vitals of both the baby and the mother. The maternity beds are also comfortable for pregnant mothers as they can sit and lean comfortably.
