Kakamega Homeboyz claimed a 2-0 win over Shabana FC in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League match at the Bukhungu Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Homeboyz started the match on a high creating more threatening chances but failed to capitalize. 

Kakamega Homeboyz broke the deadlock in the 16th minute into the encounter from a penalty after an infringement on dangerman Moses Shumah.

Homeboyz broke the deadlock in the 16th minute as The Harambee Stars striker Moses Shumah stepped up to convert a penalty kick Shabana goalkeeper Mustapha Oduor the wrong way to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. 

The hosts continued to dominate in the second-half with Moses Mudavadi forcing Shabana keeper Mustapha Oduor into a save that would have doubled their lead. 

Homeboyz scored the second goal in the 53rd minute when Hillary Otieno rose high to connect with Enock Masinza's cross and headed in Homeboyz's second goal of the match.

Former KCB man Enock Agwanda had to be introduced at the hour mark replacing Eugene Mukangula.

Homeboyz consumed pressure from a pressing Shabana and were later reduced to 10 men increasing the game's intensity. 

However, Abana baingo stood firm at the back to complete their comfortable victory over Tore Bobe. 

The victory took Abana Abeingo to the second spot on the league standings with juts a point separating them with table leaders Gor Mahia.

Shabana on the other hand remained 15th on the standings after registering their second successive defeat in the league.
