KCB crowned Dala Sevens champions

Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Rugby Football Club are the overall winners of the opening leg of the National Sevens Circuit series, the Dala Sevens.
The Lions coached by former Kenyan international Andrew Amonde, defeated Kabras Sugar 17-5 in the final of the main cup at the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Kisumu County, on Sunday.
The Bankers beat Menengai Oilers 14-12 in the quarter finals, before thrashing Strathmore Leos 31-0 in the semis.
On the other hand, Kabras Sugar staged a comeback from 14-5 down, to beat Harlequin 15-14 in another semis.
Coach Amonde stated that teamwork played a vital role enroute to being crowned champions.
"It's a good job from the boys. Congratulations to everyone at KCB because we all worked for this win," he said.
KCB walked home with Sh100, 000 from series sponsors, SportPesa.
Strathmore Leos registered a 26-19 win over Kenya Harlequin in the third place playoffs.
Western Bulls defeated MMUST 19-12 to claim the 13th place final, while Nondescript crashed hosts Kisumu RFC 12-10 to win the Challenge Trophy.
Action now moves to the Driftwood 7s in Mombasa, this weekend.
