The Kenya Power and Lighting Company, KPLC, has announced its financial report for the fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2024.

While addressing the media on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, Joseph Siror, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of KPLC, highlighted the following key achievements.

"Our success is pegged on the support of our 9.72 million customers. It is through creation of public awareness and sense of ownership that we will be able to surmount some of the challenges facing us, like vandalism, and work towards our vision of making power accessible," he said.

Kenya Power has, in the last one year, achieved key milestones in its efforts to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Through successful connections, the Company has increased access to electricity across the country by an additional 447,251 customers to the National grid.

On the other hand, more customers have joined KPLC's digital self-service platforms.

"The number of customers who subscribed to our digital self-service platforms stands at 2.1 million, up from 1.7 million the previous year," Dr. Siror reported.

These include improved digital services, which have attributed to the growth of the company in reducing the number of people going to banking halls.

In support, KPLC reiterated its commitment to sustainability, adding that operational excellence and human capital development remain at the forefront of its business strategy.

In fact, Kenya Power is focused on investing in innovative solutions to address core issues such as power access and grid reliability that support the general economic growth and development agenda of the country.

Its efforts to enhance customer experience and improve operation performance come amidst broader efforts to combat electricity theft and vandalism, which remain major challenges.

The chief executive Officer , Siror, emphasized collective responsibility, calling on people to actively support these works so that they could enjoy a stable and reliable supply of electricity.
