Kenya receives Ksh 11.5 Billion EU fund under multiannual action plan

Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has confirmed that the Global Gateway Forum 2023 in Brussels, Belgium has granted Kenya a Ksh 11.5 Billion from European union under the Multiannual Action Plan 2023-2024.
"It was a milestone as today we received over KSH 11.5 billion from the European Union. We will continue seeking new and strengthening existing partnerships for development." Gachagua said in a Facebook statement.
Gachagua has revealed that this funding is under the Neighbourhood Development and International Cooperation Instruments.
The funding will cover the implementation of various projects including the Green Transition- Environmental Sustainability and Resilience, Leave No One Behind- Human Development and Digital Inclusion, and Democratic Governance, Peace and Stability.
"On behalf of President William Samoei Ruto and the People of Kenya, we are immensely grateful to the European Union for being true to their commitment of financial support to our development Agenda." Gachagua said on his social media handles.
The Deputy president is currently in Belgium attending the Global Gateway Forum 2023 in Brussels.
In the Forum, the panel held discussions on Education and Research and the importance of heavily investing in digital infrastructure for improved access to quality education- including in marginalised areas.
Capacity building on new skills among teachers and trainers of tertiary learning institutions has been recognized as one way to improve acess to education in marginalized areas.
