Senator Enock Wambua: We won't be part of Kenya Kwanza government

Kitui Senator Enock Wambua has said the Wiper Democratic Party will remain in the opposition.
He said despite the fact that some members from Orange Democratic Movement Party have joined the Kenya Kwanza government the Wiper stand in opposition is firm.
Speaking to the press on Saturday, August 10, 2024, Wambua said they will continue to oppose the Kenya Kwanza government's manifesto.
He insisted that as the Wiper party, they will continue correcting President William Ruto's administration should they failed to deliver to Kenyans.
"We cannot be part of the Ruto administration, our job as the opposition is to criticize it. And even if they do a good job, it is not our responsibility to thank them, our responsibility is to tell them you can do better," Wambua said.
The Senator stated that they will make sure that the government is responsible to its people.
"We as Wiper are in the opposition, we stand firm in the opposition to correct and hold the government accountable to its people," he stated.
He slammed Azimio members who joined Ruto's administration as cabinet secretaries.
He said that the dockets they have been assigned are challenging to them since they are from the opposition side.
Wambua noted that as Azimio, they do not support nor have knowledge on the Bottom Up Model.
"I am only saying those people who have joined Ruto's government from ODM and we have been told that they have gone as individuals," he said.
"I would really like to see how these people are going to implement the manifesto of Kenya First, which is called the Bottom Up Model and we do not understand such things as the Azimio, now I do not know how they are going to implement it," he added.
He defended Wiper's decision stating that their role as opposition is to oversee the government.
Earlier, Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka said he will not join the government.
