Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has urged more investors to consider setting base in Machakos, since the county was strategically placed and ideal for establishment of a wide range of investment outlets.
Speaking during the grand re-opening of Coloho Mall in Athi River, Wavinya said her government is determined to embrace investors and support their initiatives, in line with the national government’s agenda of accelerating economic development.
“As we witness the re-opening of Coloho Mall, I want to assure all investors both the existing and potential ones that my government will do everything within its ability to ensure them of smooth operation,” she said,
The governor equally encouraged investors as well as entrepreneurs to take note of the global trends that dictate successful business ventures in the modern day world.
Wavinya added that in order for organizations to succeed, business managers must aspire to empower the workforce and increase productivity, especially in the digital workspace.
Closer home, she challenged management of the Coloho Mall to prioritize delivery of excellent services to their clients and customers, specifically by ensuring that consumers have instant access to more product information.
The governor cited how economies in African countries were fast opening up and expanding due to rapid globalization, thus occasioning almost daily employment opportunities, where enterprises sprout.
“As a government that is keen on tapping into available and emerging opportunities, we are progressively designing and implementing policies that attract and boost investor confidence,” said the governor.
Additionally, she said the county administration had deployed a deliberate strategy to retain investors in the area, since their very decision to invest in Machakos is a clear indication that there were numerous business opportunities in the region.
“My Government has continued to create an ample atmosphere for investors and it is impressive to see investors both local and international seeking to locate their businesses within Machakos county,” alluded the governor.
Others present at the function included the Governor of Fujian Province of the peoples Government of China Zhao Long and Minister Counsellor of the Chinese embassy in Kenya Zhang Yijun, among other county top officials.
