Man commits suicide after torching own house

A 41-year-old man from Ng'ainet village in Bomet Central Monday took his own life after setting his family's house ablaze.

Richard Koech was said to have arrived home visibly drunk at dusk before asking his wife and children to get out of the house and torched his house.

According to Ndarawetta Chief Leonard Ngetich, the deceased then disappeared two kilometers away where he was found dead dangling on a rope in what is suspected to be a suicide case. 

Ngetich said though the wife and the children were safe, police have launched investigations into what might have led to the incident.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been moved to the Longisa referral hospital morgue.
