Man sentenced for burglary

A 24-year-old man was sentenced to 3 years in prison after a Makueni court found him guilty of burglary.

The accused, Alex Kivindo Mutuku, appeared before the area Chief Magistrate Peter Gesora where he pleaded guilty to the charge.

he court heard that the accused committed the offence on 28/09/2023 when he was found trying to break into the house of Joseph Mwangi at Kathozweni town on the fateful day.

The prosecutor told the court that Mutuku was a repeat offender saying the accused had a record of stealing and he had earlier served 6 months in prison this year.

The accused was given 14 days to appeal the sentence.
