Manchester City came from behind to command a dominant 3-1 Victory over Everton in an English Premier league match played at Goodison Park on Wednesday night. 

The win moved the defending champions to within five points of the Premier League (PL) summit also marking city's seventh straight PL win at Goodison Park.

City were had just returned Fresh from their Club World Cup success in Saudi Arabia where they were crowned the new world champions with a 4-1 win over Brazil's Fluminese. 

City started the match on a high with Pickford forced to stand firm in the Everton goal, denying Julian Alvarez, Matheus Nunes and Phil Foden with a superb saves.

Everton broke their silence with a shock lead against the run of play shortly before the half-hour mark, when Dwight McNeil capitalised on a poor touch from Rodri to tee up Jack Harrison for a simple finish inside the six-yard box.

The hosts almost doubled their advantage into the stroke of half time as Harrison forced Ederson into a clinical save forcing the ball onto the top of the bar. 

City came in highly motivated in the second half finally earning an equaliser in the 53rd minute, as Foden caught Pickford out at his near post with a powerful 25-yard drive.

Nathan Ake’s effort struck the arm of Amadou Onana to earn city a spot kick to turn over the results in their favor. 

In the absence of first-choice taker Erling Haaland, Alvarez assumed the responsibility from the spot, and the Argentine blasted his penalty down the middle for his fifth PL goal of the season.

Bernardo Silva was the man to finish the job in the last 20 minutes as he punished a wayward pass from Pickford with a well-taken lob, earning City just their second Premier league win in seven matches.

City settle at fourth with 37 points with a game in hand while Everton settle at 17th with just 16 points.
