MCK unveils internship beneficiaries

The Media council of Kenya has unveiled over 120 graduates set to benefit for the Industrial internship programme.
In a nominal roll released on Friday, 5 January, 2024. The council listed the graduates who qualified for the internship programme and placed them under various media companies across the country.
The Graduates are set to begin a three month internship program from January to March 2024 where they will gain extra experience in the field of media and communications.
The beneficiaries will also be able to gain professional experience, create professional networks and connect with experienced media practitioners that will enable them to grow, build their skillset and diversify their expertise.
The beneficiaries will be entitled to a monthly stipend that will motivate them to cater for their upkeep and daily expenses while serving the internship.
Under the programme, KBC and Radio Africa Group received the lions share of interns each with 10 while Media max received 5 interns.
MCK has been rolling out annual industrial attachment programme targeting students of journalism and communications to gain experience in the field as well as Industrial Internship programmes to prepare graduates of media and communications for the job market.
Meanwhile, MCK officially begun its rollout for the annual media accreditation programme for journalists, media practitioners and media students.
