By Joshua Cheloti Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria says he expects Narc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua to condemn heckling of other leaders from Kenya Kwanza should such be witnessed in Azimio la Umoja strongholds. This follows a recent incident in which Ida Odinga was heckled during a Catholic Women Association (CWA) event in Meru. Karua condemned the incident which expressed the need for Kenyans to reject politics of intimidation. "Why invite a guest then heckle or boo them? Probably a stage-managed affair for the sole purpose of political zoning which is unacceptable," Karua said in one of the several tweets condemning the incident. But responding to one of the tweets, Moses Kuria said he will be visiting Kisumu and should he be heckled, he expects Karua to condemn it, the same way she had done with the Ida Odinga incident. "I totally agree my sister. Next week I will be in Kondele. Please keep a draft of your condemnation statement," Moses Kuria replied to one of Martha Karua's tweets. Ida Odinga had been invited to be the Chief Guest at the event and boos started immediately she rose to speak. He attempts to calm down the Catholic Women Association members at the event bore no fruits. Even the intervention of Senator Mithika Linturi, an ally of Deputy President William Ruto to bring the crowd to order hit a snag. "Women must refuse to be used. Listen to all and then cast your vote where you will," said the Narc Kenya party leader in response to the incident. "We all want to be listened to as politicians, so why do what you would not done unto you," she added. Ida Odinga, in a tweet about the event, opted to steer away from the heckling incident. "A day of reflection and prayer at the Catholic Women Association's special celebration of the annunciation in Meru County. "I have and will always hold onto faith that has remained a steady compass throughout my life," she tweeted.
