MP Adan satirises opposition issues
By Robert Mutasi
Eldas Member of Parliament, Adan Keynan, has strongly criticized the grievances raised by Azimio la Umoja.
The MP has stated that the issues have nothing to do with the welfare of the people of Kenya.
In an interview with Citizen TV on Monday, Keynan said that the issue should have been aired in a more constructive manner.
The lawmaker admitted that during the bipartisan talks, the issues the Azimio team was raising were of little value to the public demand.
"I have been part of this group and their issues have nothing to do with the welfare of the people of Kenya," said the MP.
Contrary to the claims of Azimio leaders asserting that the protests are peaceful, Keynan said the protests have caused chaos and mayhem in the country.
He further stated that the protests have not been peaceful as they have been interfering with people's business and daily routines, hence causing loss.
He blamed the opposition for destroying people's property amidst the protests.
"What the opposition is expected to do is to be a loyal opposition, which means being loyal to the rule of law," he stated.
He indicated that Azimio should be held responsible and accountable for the loss of lives, defending police officers by asserting that they were carrying out their duties of protecting people's property.
He urged the opposition to emulate the way other countries like South Africa and Tunisia conduct peaceful demonstrations.
