Mutahi Ngunyi defects to Ruto's camp
By Peter Ochieng
Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has made a political turnaround.
Ngunyi, who coined the famous phase 'tyranny of numbers' during retired president Uhuru Kenyatta's time in office, says he has all along misjudged Ruto using 'dynasty lens.'
"Public notice. I have defected to William Ruto. I mis-judged him using the dynasty lens But if the facts change, you must change your mind. And only a fool does not change his mind. I started project Hustler Nation. Now I must complete it. Iko Swali?" he shared online.
Ngunyi has been an ardent supporter of Kenyatta and Azimio leader, Raila Odinga.
He now terms Kenyatta as the last 'governor of the colonial project.'
"Uhuru is the last governor of the colonial project. The colonizers used dynasties to dominate the poor. And Babaman (Raila) was to continue in 2022 as the Lord of poverty. But Ruto stopped him. And yes, Ruto has problems. But give him a chance."
Responding to Ngunyi's move, Robert Alai, Kileleshwa Member of the County Assembly (MCA) claimed the analyst was never against Ruto, in the first place.
He alleged that even Kenyatta will soon declare his support for Ruto.
"You were never against him. You can’t survive outside government. You will be in jail. Uhuru will be following you there soon."
Alai is one of Odinga's die hard supporters.
In the meantime, president Ruto is going on with his working tour of Mt. Kenya.
