National Youth Service recruits in Machakos

35 youths from Machakos sub county were on Wednesday selected to join the National Youth Service (NYS) in the ongoing countrywide recruitment that started on Monday.
The recruits, 23 male and 12 female were picked after they met the prerequisite qualifications in an exercise that was conducted at the Kenyatta stadium led by NYS instructor Chief Inspector Lucy Njoki.
The exercise was however marred by low turnout as youths gave the recruitment a wide berth.
"The exercise went on smoothly and no incidents were reported. The process was also open and transparent, “said Njoki.
According to the chief inspector the successful candidates will report for the training at NYS colleges in Gilgil and Naivasha.
