Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu and his Kapseret counterpart Oscar Sudi on Sunday had an online exchange over the possibility of Azimilio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga, getting more votes than Deputy President William Ruto in Mt Kenya region.
It all started after Ngunjiri gave his hypothesis arguing that as it stands, Odinga enjoys 30% support from the region. He, however, noted that the number will grow to 40% if he (Odinga) names a running mate from Mt Kenya region.
Ngunjiri went further and suggested that Odinga’s Mt Kenya numbers will grow to 55% once President Uhuru Kenyatta retreats to his backyard and rallies the region to support Azimio.
“Mt Kenya region has8M votes. Raila has 30% so far (2.4M). When we announce the DP from Mt Kenya it will get to 40% (3.6M). Once Uhuru hits the ground it will get to 55% (4.4M). Plan accordingly,” Ngunjiri posted.

“What's wrong with you Deputy Women Rep?” Sudi posed in reaction to Ngunjiri’s prediction.
Ngunjiri fired back at Sudi, stating that he had difficulty understanding his hypothesis because mathematics has never been his stronghold.
“I understand your problem here Bro. I know Hesabu isn’t your strong point,” he said.
Mt Kenya region is one of the areas to watch out for in the August 2022 presidential election, as this is the first time the region will not have a strong candidate of its own contesting the presidency, meaning they’ll have to support someone form another community.
A section of political analysts believe DP Ruto enjoys a huge support base in the region while others argue that President Kenyatta is still a dominant factor that should not be ignored.
