Crisis is looming in Migori County after Woman Rep Pamela Odhiambo said she’ll lead her supporters to vote for her as ODM’s Migori gubernatorial candidate on Monday April 18, 2022, even though the party handed Senator Ochillo Ayacko a direct ticket.
Odhiambo who has been marshaling her supporters to turn up and vote on Monday said the methods used by the party to award Ochillo the ticket were unverifiable.
“...Until Friday the party never told us voting was to be called off. My agents and supporters will march to polling centres and vote.
“I have been loyal to the party and my leader Raila Odinga, I have sacrificed my life for this party. I heard somewhere that there was negotiation to see where to place me, and I have not been contacted officially. We will wake up and vote on Monday,” she said while addressing the media over the weekend.

The nominations will be for the position of; Woman Rep, Suna West MP, and 40 ward reps. This is after the party issued direct tickets for the gubernatorial, senatorial and five parliamentary positions.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that the ODM National Elections Board (NEB) has come up with a new list of polling centres that are set to be used in the Monday exercise, despite announcing a different set of polling stations in an earlier communication.
The alleged change in polling stations has created confusion among aspirants and their supporters, with some reading malice in the last minute changes.
“There’s something the party is hiding from us. We had met with all aspirants and deliberated on the venues for nominations. Why then is NEB working behind our back and coming up with a new list of polling stations at the last minute? This is an act of sabotage that could end up causing chaos,”Migori ODM County Secretary Joseph Olala told Nation.
