Nyamira County Executive Committee Members (CECM) have signed performance contacts for the 2023/24 financial year to guide them in the implementation of their programs, projects, and policies.

Governor Amos Nyaribo while witnessing the signing of performance contracts stated that the contracts are the blueprint upon which the CECMs will base efficient services delivery by respective departments to residents.

“Implementation of various assignments will go a long way to meet my development agenda anchored in three main pillars which include good governance and accessibility, inclusivity, wealth, and job creation. Your respective departments as CECMs play a critical role in actualizing this development agenda as inscribed in my manifesto,” stated Nyaribo.

“You must ensure that activities, programs, and projects implemented in your respective departments are aligned to my development agenda and that of our constitution, and that is the reason why you have publicly signed these performance contracts to ensure you are held responsible for the management of your departments so that citizens can access services they duly deserve,” said the Governor.

He cautioned CECMs that the signing should not be treated just as a mere annual ritual and leave the documents piling in dust on the shelves, going forward they will be required to give quarterly performance returns which must be shared with my office on the progress they have made in achieving targets in their respective departments. Any other gaps and failures of performance must be backed with factual and relevant reasons and evidence.

“I will personally be keenly monitoring the performance of each department and implementation of my county’s development agenda to assess the efficiency of service delivery concerning your commitment.” Governor Nyaribo said.

Nyaribo further urged departments to build synergies with relevant institutions within and outside the county in a bid to effectively deliver their projected programs and directed the performance contracts be cascaded to chief officers, then to directors down to the junior officers who together will work as a team for their respective department performance.

The deputy governor, Dr. James Gesami who was also present during the signing urged the CECMs to be prudent managers of county resources because citizens have various needs and wants to be implemented.
