Police in Migori County are holding 12 suspected goons, who were reportedly planning to cause chaos during the ongoing ODM nomination exercise in the border County.
The 12 were allegedly on a mission to disrupt the exercise.
“The suspects were arrested in Bondo Nyironge in Suna West constituency area and five sharp pangas, two rungus and booklets associated with an MP aspirant were found,” Suna East police boss Esau Ochorokodi told members of the press.

“We will treat them as criminals and we will take them to court tomorrow as we finalize investigations, our officers and DCIO officers are still on high alert and we have beefed enough security,” he added.
Members of ODM party in Migori County are voting for Suna West MP hopeful, Woman Representative and 40 ward seats across the devolved unit.
Senator Ochillo Ayacko has already bagged the ODM ticket for the gubernatorial seat, as well as Eddy Oketch who will contest for the Senatorial seat on August 09, 2022.
The move to hand Ayacko the direct gubernatorial ticket irked Women Representative Pamela Odhiambo, who harbors ambitions of succeeding the outgoing governor, Zachary Okoth Obado.
She promised to wake up and vote.
“I have been loyal to the party and my leader Raila Odinga, I have sacrificed my life for this party. I heard somewhere that there was negotiation to see where to place me, and I have not been contacted officially. We will wake up and vote on Monday,” she said.
Members of Parliament, Junet Mohammed (Suna East), Paul Abuor (Rongo), Walter Owino (Awendo), Mark Nyamita (Uriri) and Tom Odege (Nyatike) have nothing to worry for, as they were handed direct tickets before the primaries.
