Governor reshuffles Turkana County Executive

Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai today issued Executive Order No: 08/2023 effectively reshuffling some County Executive Committee Members and County Chief Officers.

The CECMs affected included Francis Mariao who moved from the Ministry of Tourism Culture, Environment, Energy and Natural Resources to the Ministry of Health Services and Sanitation, replacing Dr. Anthony Apalia Ekakoron who was transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock Development and Fisheries. 

Elizabeth Loote has been transferred from the Ministry of Trade, Enterprise Development, Cooperatives, Gender and Youth Affairs to the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Environment, Energy and Natural Resources.

David Erukudi currently the CECM for Agriculture, Livestock Development and Fisheries moves to the Ministry of Trade, Enterprise Development, Cooperatives, Gender and Youth Affairs.

The rest of the County Executives have been retained in their respective dockets.

Meanwhile, the county boss also reshuffled County Chief Officers with Samwel Ekaale Ekitela, currently the Chief Officer for Trade, Enterprise Development and Cooperatives moving to the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning as Chief Officer, Economic Planning.

Robert Bob Loyelei, currently County Chief Officer for Sports and Vocational Training was transferred to the Ministry of Trade, Enterprise Development, Co-operatives, Gender and Youth Affairs as County Chief Officer, Trade, Enterprise Development and Cooperatives.

Simon Etom, currently County Chief Officer for Water Services, was transferred to the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Natural Resources and Climate Change as County Chief Officer, Tourism, Culture and Heritage.

Triza Amoni, was moved from being Chief Officer for Tourism, Culture and Heritage to the Department of Energy and Mining as County Chief Officer.

Maraka Namus David was transferred from the post of Chief Officer for Energy and Mining to the Ministry of Water Service as County Chief Officer of water Services.

The Chief Officer for Economic Planning Korikel John Ayangan was transferred to the Ministry of Education, Sports and Social Protection as County Chief Officer, Sports and Vocational Training. 

The County Chief Officer for Municipalities and Urban Areas Management Cathra Abidi transferred to the Ministry of Roads, Transport and Public Works as County Chief Officer, Public Works swopping places with Nakaale Lotieng Marian.

The rest of the Chief Officers have been retained in their current dockets.

The Governor has stated that the changes were necessary to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the execution of service delivery to the people of Turkana County. The changes take effect immediately with handovers expected within 72 hours.
