Omanga, Pastor Ezekiel top list of Google Search for 2023

Politician Milicent Omanga and Pastor Ezekiel Odero of the New Life Prayer Centre and Church in Mavueni, Kilifi County top the list of the most searched people on Google in Kenya, for 2023.

Omanga tops the list, followed by Pastor Ezekiel. Omanga, a former nominated Senator attracted online scrutiny when she was nominated Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) at the powerful Interior Ministry, in March this year.

Her subsequent appointment and 49 others were however halted after the High Court ruled that their nomination was unconstitutional, in the first place. The case is pending at the Court of Appeal. She calls herself Mama Miradi (Mother of projects).

Pastor Ezekiel Odero on the other hand had a sort of a rough year, after being arrested and charged over allegations of links to controversial ‘Pastor’ Paul Mackenzie, who is behind bars for charges related to ‘brainwashing his followers into a fast to death’ in Shakahola forest.

Over 400 people died. The case against Ezekiel was later dismissed by a Mombasa court.

At position three is DJ Fatxo, followed by Social Media Influencer Georgina Njenga. ‘Pastor Mackenzie’ completes the top five list.

DJ Fatxo whose real name is Lawrence Njuguna attracted public attention after his friend, Jeff Mwathi died upon falling off the apartment where Fatxo lived.

On the other hand, Georgina Njenga made social media headlines after split from ex -lover Tyler Mbaya, alias Baha, followed by the leaking of her intimate photos online.

Athlete Faith Kipyegon, the three-time world record holder in middle-distance running is at number six.

Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i came in at position seven, while at number eight is former Independent and Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairperson Wanyonyi Wafula Chebukati.

Chief Justice Martha Karamu Koome came in at position nine, followed by Mathe Wa Ngara who closed the top 10 list.
