Omtatah, Murango top list of 25 best performing Senators

Busia Senator Okoiti Okiyah Omtatah has been ranked the best in terms of performance among his peers from all the 47 counties.
The first term legislature who is widely known for public centered petitions in court was ranked the best with a 59 per cent rating, tying with Kirinyaga's Kamau Murango.
This, is according to findings of a survey conducted by research firm Infortrak under the banner of 'County Trak.'
Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot is third with a 56 per cent rating, followed by Makueni's Dan Maanzo who managed 52 per cent.
John Methu of Nyandarua and Joel Nyutu of Murang'a tied with a 51 per cent rating, with Samburu's Stephen Lelegwe and Kitui's Enock Wambua managing 50 per cent each.
Nairobi county's Edwin Sifuna and Julius Murgor of West Pokot got 48 per cent rating each.
Other Senators in the top 25 list include Samson Cherargei (Nandi), Okong'o Omogeni (Nyamira), Godfrey Osotsi (Vihiga), Alexander Mundingi (Embu), Agnes Muthama (Machakos), Ali Roba (Mandera), and Moses Kajwang (Homabay) among others.
The survey was conducted between July and September, 2023, a year after the leaders were elected during the August, 2022 general elections.
A similar survey targeting women representatives saw Turkana county's Cecilia Asinyen and Jane Njeri of Kirinyaga being named the best with a 50 per cent rating.
Homabay county women representative Joyce Osogo Atieno popularly known as Bensouda and Tharaka Nithi's Susan Ngugi followed on the que, after getting a 49 per cent rating, while Rael Kasiwai of West Pokot closed the top five positions with a 48 per cent rating.
This week, Nairobi Review gave a highlight of the governor's performance rating, courtesy of the Infotrak survey.
Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya and his Homabay counterpart Gladys Wanga were ranked the best performing.
The two first term county chiefs tied at position one with a performance rating of 70 per cent, by far defeating several second term governors such as Kisumu's Anyang' Nyong'o and Kirinyaga's Anne Waiguru.
