Police in Kuresoi North sub-county have launched a manhunt for a 22-year-old man who clobbered his uncle to death with a piece of firewood following a domestic squabble.
Sub-county Police Commander Jonah Gathenge said the suspect Peter Moseti disappeared from the home in Kamara village three days ago and is on the run after committing the murder.
Police say the suspect attacked his uncle Dominic Makori aged 30, with the wooden stick on his head last Sunday after picking a quarrel with him.
Makori had earlier arrived at Tegat in Mau sub-location area from Kisii County where their other relatives live and had gone to visit other family members before arriving home at Kamara.
In the evening of the same day, Makori went home to Kamara and after entering the house, an angry Moseti arrived and summoned his uncle to explain himself over a domestic matter.
Without warning, the suspect hit his uncle on the head and Makori fell on the ground and passed out. Relatives rushed the victim to Nakuru Level 5 hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries a day later.
Gathenge urged anyone with information concerning his whereabouts should let them know as they have intensified their search effort.
The body of the deceased is lying at the Nakuru level 5 hospital mortuary pending postmortem examination.
