President William has commissioned a 6000-acre 90MVA, 66/11KV Naivasha special economic zone Sub - Station on Saturday in Mai Mahiu Nakuru County. 

The president said the project will power industries in the facility at reduced costs. 

He issued special economic zone enterprise licences to six companies that will invest a total of KSh30 billion, creating more than 3,000 job opportunities to Kenyans. 

Ruto said that the initiative will also increase direct foreign investment and industrial growth. 

"We are on course in our quest to transforming Kenya into an attractive investment destination and a leader in green industrialisation.

By equipping our Special Economic Zones with clean energy and essential infrastructure, we aim to attract foreign direct investments, drive industrial growth and enhance exports. This is how we Plan to grow our economy and create jobs for our people."The president said in a statement. 

The head of state was in company of Deputy President H.E. Rigathi Gachagua, EGH, Cabinet Secretaries Davis Chirchir, Rebecca Miano and Zacharia Njeru, Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika, MPs and local MCAs.  

The facility according to State Department for Investment Promotion Principal Secretary, Abubakar Hassan will provide first-world infrastructure and bureaucratic and administrative efficiency at globally competitive prices and it is geo-strategically located.

It is also within proximity of cheap sources of renewable energy and modern transport infrastructure that is linked to landlocked countries in Eastern Africa, either by rail or road.

In his busy Saturday at Nakuru County, the President will afterwards launch Kings Bondeni Affordable Housing Project which has seen the construction of 605 units where 45 will be one-bedrooms, 180 two-bedroom and 380 units three-bedroom.

The Bondeni, Nakuru AHP project is the second project that the Civil Servants Housing Scheme is undertaking as part of its contribution to the affordable housing programme.

Later in the afternoon, the President will be at Gacharage Trading Centre, Kuresoi North, where he will launch Kiambiriria-Chepsir Road.
