Renowned Nairobi politician Karen Nyamu has elicited reactions online after she was spotted wearing a bracelet of bearing name of her baby daddy mugithi musician Samido, despite reports that they are no longer together.
While attending a Kenya Kwanza rally in Kiambu County, Nyamu was spotted with the bracelet branded with a Kenyan flag on one side and Samido’s name on the other.
Reacting to the bracelet, some netizens claimed that Nyamu was still in love with Samido, while others jokingly reached out to Samido for pointers.
"Msijifanye hamuoni bracelet imeandikwo Samidoh," a user named Maggy commented.
"Aki mapenzi wewe.....kai gugithiaga atia...Samidoh," Wangui Rose posted.
Meanwhile, Sunday April 10, 2021 marked Nyamu's first campaign engagement with the Kenya Kwanza team after she dropped her Nairobi Senatorial bid in favour of Bishop Margaret Wanjiru.
In a statement on Facebook, Nyamu noted that her focus is now on national politics, adding that she will be traversing the country with Kenya Kwanza leaders campaigning for Deputy President William Ruto.
“Nimeongea kikuyu yangu yote leo ikaisha. I accompanied the Kenya Kwanza Presidential candidate HE William Ruto to a tour of Kiambu county to sell our agenda for Kenya. The presidential campaign has began in earnest! Mpango ni bottom up!” she posted.

Following the decision to drop her senatorial bid, her supporters in Nairobi are hoping that DP Ruto and UDA party will either pick her as Senator Johnson Sakaja’s running mate in the Nairobi gubernatorial race, or nominate her for a seat in either Parliament or Senate.
In a statement after dropping her senatorial bid, Nyamu hinted at the possibility of getting a nomination, stating that “mbele iko sawa”.
“My Nairobi team we worked so hard in the senate race. I want you to know that all that work is not in vain. My party UDA recognizes our efforts na mbele iko sawa. Hatupangwingi,” she posted.
