Revealed: Rachel Ruto flew to the US to invite televangelist for crusade
By Peter Ochieng
First Lady Rachael Ruto is a reknown prayer warrior, who may not allow any prayer moment to bypass her.
It is on this backdrop that the First Lady reportedly flew all the way to the United States to invite a televangelist for a crusade.
According to celebrated American preacher Benny Hinn, she was surprised by the First Lady's act of travelling all the way to Orlando, Florida, together with her team, to ask him to attend a crusade in Nairobi.
He said he was told by Mrs. Ruto that the crusade would not only be nationwide but also fully sponsored by the government of Kenya.
"Something amazing happened. The First Lady of Kenya flew from Nairobi with her team, just for one reason; to ask me to come back to Nairobi for a nationwide government-sponsored crusade," Hinn said during one of his sermons.
"The only time I think we've ever had that was in Papua New Guinea," he added.
The Kenyan First Lady was accompanied by Ugandan preacher Robert Kayanja. They wanted the crusades to be jointly held in Kenya and Uganda.
"They want to do two crusades for each country, I said, OK, Lord, you still have more time for me." It is not clear when the crusades will be held.
Benny Hinn is an Israeli-born American-Canadian televangelist, best known for his regular "Miracle Crusades"—revival meeting or faith healing summits, that are usually held in stadiums in major cities.
The 70-year-old preacher's crusades are later broadcast worldwide on his television program, This Is Your Day.
Shortly after being declared winner of the August, 2022 presidential contest, William Ruto declared that he was prayed into victory, where the First Lady played a key role.
On the other hand, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's wife, Dorcas is a Pastor.
