Police in Bahati have launched a manhunt for a driver who hit and killed a middle-aged man on the spot at Heshima trading centre along Nakuru-Nyahururu highway.
Confirming the incident area police boss Mwangi Ng'ang'a, said the killer driver of the Nakuru bound probox vehicle escaped the accident scene but abandoned it at Kwa Buda area.
"The police intercepted the vehicle only to find it abandoned and we conducted a search, "said Ng'ang'a.
Upon search, he said that they only came across an dentification card by the name, Alex Kamau saying they will pursue the matter until the culprit is brought to book.
"The driver was over speeding and thus could not control the vehicle to avert such a horrible occurrence. Let them know that we will not entertain drivers who do not adhere to the traffic rules," warned the police boss.
The deceased who met his untimely death at around 11pm, was identified as Paul Karithu and his body is lying at the Nakuru PGH Annex hospital morgue awaiting postmortem.
