Deputy President (DP) William Ruto on Friday, April 08, 2022, responded to the National Cohesion and Intergration Commission (NCIC) with a song, shortly after the constitutional body banned several words terming them as propagating hatespeech.
The DP shared Sipangwingwi song on his Twitter page. He is featured in the song by musician X-Rey.
Sipangwingwi is among the words banned by NCIC, ahead of the August 09 polls.
The word loosely translates to "I cannot be arranged.

"Nataka wajue vile wakenya wanasema hawapangwingwi, nataka niwaambie mimi pia kama hustler sipangwingwi," the DP says in the song.
It translates to "I want them to know that as Kenyans say they cannot be arranged, as hustler I cannot be arranged either."
Earlier, NCIC unveiled a list of popularly used words, considered hate speech, which means use of them could attract legal action going foward.
"We have therefore taken the bull by its horns through this exercise of identifying terms and coded language that have been commonly used in Kenya’s political landscape with the intent to incite violence against various communities of differing political stances,” reads NCIC statement by Chairman, Samuel Kobia.
“As such, this remains a living document since the terms and coded language shall be regularly updated for use in the social media tracking of the National cohesion and Integration Commission,” the statement adds.
Here are the terms:
Uncircumcised
Fumigation
Eliminate
Kill
Kaffir
Madoadoa
Chunga Kura
Kama noma noma
Kwekwe
Mende
Hatupangwingwi
Operation Linda kura
Watu wa kurusha mawe
Watajua hawajui
Wabara waende kwao
Wakuja (Those that come)
Uthamaki ni witu
Kimurkeldet (Brown teeth)
Otutu Labatonik (uproot the weed)
Ruto's song comes less than three month after ODM party leader Raila Odinga released the Lero ni Lero (It is today song) in collaboration with musician Emmanuel Musindi.
