Raila set for one week tour of the US

ODM leader Raila Odinga is set to tour the United States for a week to drum up support for his presidential bid ahead of the August 9, 2022, General Elections. According to his spokesperson Dennis Onyango, the former premier is expected to leave the country on Friday April 22 and is expected to address the Kenyan diaspora in the US. Odinga will kick off his tour in Washington DC, where he is expected to meet Black Congressional Caucus and other US leaders. He will then head to San Fransisco, California. The Azimio La Umoja presidential candidate will be accompanied by Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua, Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, James Ongwae (Kisii), former Aldai MP Sally Kosgey, Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang, and Kathiani MP Robert Mbui. Odinga and his entourage are expected to return to the country on April 29. The US tour comes close to a month after he concluded a tour of the United Kingdom where he addressed the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House.
