Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has mocked Busia Governor Sospeter Odeke Ojaamong for 'walking in mud.'
The vocal Senator used the phrase to describe the poor state of infrastructure - especially the road network in Busia town and its environs, under Ojaamong's leadership.
"Here in Busia we have a governor, every time he opens his mouth what comes out is ODM! ODM! but he is walking in mud. We want to elect somebody who understands matters of economy. And that person is Bunyasi," said Malala.

He spoke on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, during a campaign trail by Kenya Kwanza alliance Western region leaders in the border County, led by ANC's Musalia Mudavadi and Ford-Kenya leader Moses Wetang'ula.
John Sakwa Bunyasi, the Nambale Member of Parliament is in the race for Busia County's next governor, under the Kenya Kwanza political formation.
He has promised, among other things to decongest Busia town if elected, to succeed Ojaamong who is expected to leave of in August 2022, after serving for two terms.
"One of my First priorities as Governor will be to decongest Busia and Malaba towns- off the trailers which are actually a time bomb in causing a fatality," says the MP.
"Waste management system of Busia town and our various Sub County towns must be sorted out and be given a major face-lift. Through an elaborate economic plan; we will have each of our major towns in our various sub-counties have a major factor of production that will provide jobs and improve standards of living."
"Moving forward We must - see to it; that we have working and economically viable CBDs in each of our sub-counties."
Senator Malala urged residents of Western region Counties - Busia, Trans Nzoia, Bungoma, Kakamega and Vihiga to elect politicians allied to Kenya Kwanza as the next governors.
