A Kenya Kwanza allied legislator, today, warned President William Ruto and his Deputy, Rigathi Gachagua against the blanket lynching of the judiciary.

Ugenya Member of Parliament (MP), David Ochieng, at the same time said that naming and shaming individual judges in public rallies must stop, adding that anybody with complains against judicial officers or any public servant must follow the laid down procedures of filing complains.

He was speaking at Sega Township Primary School grounds in Ugenya, Monday, during the launch of this year’s Ugenya scholarship programme.

Ochieng, the Movement for Democracy and Growth Party Leader said that much as he agreed with the president that corruption must be fought in the Country, focus should not just be on the judiciary alone but the entire public service, including the executive and legislature.

“Even as they struggle to fight corruption, they should stop the mob lynching spree against judges,” said the MP.

He warned that the naming individual judges in political rallies and public appearances, would erode the public confidence in the government’s commitment to purge corruption.

The Legislator said the war against corruption must be done methodically, and in a manner that does not seem to be targeting the judiciary alone.
