Three men, arrested over defilement

Three men from Kabimoi area, Eldama Ravine have been arrested for defiling a nine-year-old girl.

The Koibatek Sub-County Police Commander Joseph Ongaya said they had also arrested parents of the minor for neglecting her.

The trio, Sammy Kibet (44), Joel Kibe (64) and Richard Chepkong’a (32) together with parents of the girl are being held at the Eldama Ravine Police Station and will be arraigned in court after conclusion of investigations.

Ongaya said the police received a tip off from a member of the public who said the minor had been defiled for a long time.

“We are building a water tight case against the accused as we have already done a medical test on the minor and conducted positive identification,” he added.

The police boss warned parents against indulging in alcoholism and neglecting their children, warning those found culpable that the law will catch up with them.
