Two dead as two are hospitalized after road accident

Two people died on the spot this morning and two others were hospitalized after a school van belonging to Fairmonts International School in Kisii County collided with a bodaboda that was ferrying three passengers at Nyakoe along Mosocho - Kisii town road. 

The deceased are the bodaboda rider and one of his passengers while the two others are recuperating at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital where they were rushed by well-wishers.

According to eye witness, Purity Kerubo, the vehicle which had come from Mosocho side was making a turn to return to the same direction when the motorcycle rammed on the side of the vehicle throwing the two casualties under the vehicle. 

Kerubo said the first responders had to mobilize effort to lift the vehicle of the ground to rescue the two.

Confirming the incident, Kisii County Police Commander Charles Kases said the van driver and three school children who were in the vehicle escaped unhurt. He said those hospitalized are in stable condition.

"Investigations are underway to establish the course of the accident," said Kases.
