Two fire arms and 18 rounds of ammunition recovered as six gang members arrested in Kiamaiko

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have received two fire arms and 18 rounds of ammunition in a sting operation conducted in Kayole, Umoja 3 and Kiamaiko in Huruma.
The operation led to the arrest of 6 suspected gang members including two middle aged women and four men believed to be terrorizing residents and targetting licensed gun holders.
The two women identified as Helen Njeri Kirika and Veronicah Ndunge Kioko are said to be spiking drinks of targeted victims and robbing them at their knockout.
The two were found with 15 rounds of ammunition at a rented house in Kayole area.
Upon interrogation, the two revealed the whereabouts of their crime accomplices leading to the arrest of Kevin Ngugi Mwangi and John Mwangi Matheri who were smoked out at Umoja 3 further leading officers to arrest a fifth suspect, Abdulaziz Duba Molu at Huruma.
The fifth suspect alias Zizo was briefly interrogated, leading the team to a house in Kiamaiko where two pistols brand Ceska and Falcon were recovered including three live rounds of ammunition.
According to the DCI, the Preliminary Ceska pistol was robbed from an inspector of police based at Mowlen Police Station in Kamukunji on June 17, 2024, when he was accosted by members of the gang at night.
The suspects, including a sixth person of interest have been taken to custody pending arraigment while documentation of the exhibits continue pending ballistic analysis.
