Two motorbike pillions escaped death narrowly after the boda boda they were traveling on collided head-on with a lorry along the Narok town- Osutua road.

Though the motorbike rider sustained minor injuries, his two pillion passengers, a woman and her child sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Narok County Referral Hospital.

According to Paul Mbithi, who witnessed the incident, both the motorbike and the lorry belonging to BB Company were speeding in different directions when they collided.

Mbithi said the motorbike operator and the lorry’s driver had moved from their lanes to negotiate a sharp corner when they collided.

Joseph Maina, the father to the child involved in the accident called on motorists to be careful while plying the smooth highway to avoid causing deaths.

“Am calling upon road-users, mostly boda boda riders to put safety of others at the forefront as they operate. This road is used by many people and if they are not careful, they may end up killing many people,” he said.

He also called on the traffic department to put stern measures against motorists who flout traffic regulations, so that there can be sanity on the roads.
