Vihiga county government has automated revenue collection in a bid to seal loopholes for corruption that characterize the manual system.

Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo said the move will create efficiency, hence raise the amount of money collected locally.

Speaking during a launching ceremony at Mbale municipal grounds on Thursday, the governor stated that there will be regular inspection of the gadgets to ensure uninterrupted services.

The county head added that they have set targets for all departments and directed the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for finance to be carrying out periodic assessment of performance of each department.

The CECM finance and economic planning Dr. Jairus Amayi said they are determined to meet the county annual revenue target of Sh. 500 million.
