Willis Raburu joins TV47
By Peter Ochieng
Television presenter Willis Raburu has joined TV47, about two months after leaving Royal Media Services (RMS) owned Citizen TV.
He will host a new show dubbed Wabebe Experience each Friday, from 10pm.
Raburu shared the news via a short video promo, shared on his social media pages on Tuesday morning.
"What defines you? Is it being in a serious, strict appearance that gets you respect? Is it being happy-go-lucky that aligns you with a different prospect? Is it a mix of both that makes you happy in retrospect?" he pauses in the video.
He added, "Change is the essence of life. Transition is the path we walk. And in everything, there is one thing that remains constant - you."
Raburu said the wait is finally over as he turns another page, after leaving Citizen TV.
"It is about embracing every new beginning. Each chapter that unfolds. No one can keep you down. No one can define you. Welcome to the new journey. The wait is over," he stated.
Raburu left RMS towards the end of June, 2023 after 13 years.
He served as reporter, news anchor and presenter during his time at Citizen TV.
He was the host of an entertainment show dubbed 10 over 10.
“This week, I bid farewell to Royal Media Services, my home for 13 remarkable years. Thank you for the platform to break barriers, inspire change, and connect with all of you. Onward to new adventures!” Raburu said on 26th June, 2023.
“Am grateful to you who have worked with me in all these 13 years I have been in the media doing several different things. Am grateful to my colleagues, am grateful to the opportunity to come out and do whatever it is that I love."
“I have learnt a lot and I have experienced a lot and it has allowed me to grow in my mind in my appreciation of people, in my appreciation of things and even attitudes,” he added.
Wabebe (carry them) was coined during his time at Citizen TV.
