The U.S. Coast Guard said on Wednesday that it has recovered "presumed human remains" from the wreckage of the Titan submersible.

LOS ANGELES -- Millions of Americans are on alert for unhealthy air quality as wildfire smoke from Canada continues to drift to the United States.

The U.S. National Weather Service (NWS) on Wednesday issued air quality alerts for at least 20 states from Minnesota to as far south as Georgia. The unhealthy air quality alerts even extended to the Northeast including all of New York state and New Jersey. (US-Wildfire Smoke-Alert)

TEHRAN -- Iran's police and Russia's National Guard on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on long-term cooperation in security and law enforcement, the official news agency IRNA reported.

STOCKHOLM -- Sweden will increase its defense budget by 20 percent next year, in order to meet the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's (NATO) target of 2 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the country's Minister for Defense Pal Jonson said on Wednesday.

The defense budget will be upped by 20 billion kronor (1.86 billion U.S. dollars) to reach 117 billion kronor in 2024. For 2025, the government plans to increase the budget by a further 12 billion kronor, Swedish Television (SVT) reported. (Sweden-NATO-defense budget)

ATHENS -- Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis outlined the priorities of the new government at the first cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
