178 Adult learners sit for KCPE exam in Kajiado

 A total 178 adult learners in Kajiado are among the 30,421 candidates sitting for this year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examinations (KCPE) in 691 centres in the county.

The national examinations which kicked off Monday without any hitches will also see 28,878 Grade 6 candidates sit for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment examinations (KPSEA) in 858 exam centres.

Speaking in Kajiado central after overseeing the examination papers distribution exercise, County Commissioner Jude Wasonga noted that all logistical and security measures had been put in place to guarantee the safety and credibility of the national examinations. 

Wasonga revealed that adequate security personnel had been deployed in all distribution and examination centres to safeguard the papers and ensure that no unauthorized persons access the exams.

“All systems are in place to ensure the delivery of credible examinations; we are adequately prepared for the KCPE and KPSEA examinations which commenced today till Wednesday,” he said.

A total of 1,415, 315 million candidates are sitting for this year’s KCPE examinations countrywide. The candidates will be the last to sit for the exams under the 8-4-4 system.  

Similarly, a total of 1,282,574 Grade six pupils nationwide are sitting for this year’s KPSEA exams.
