The 2024 pre-primary, primary, secondary schools and teachers’ training colleges is out.
According to the calendar unveiled by the Ministry of Education on Friday, 13 October 2023, the pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools will open for the first term on January 8, 2024.
Learners will be in school for 13 weeks. The leaners will have a three-day half term break from February 29, 2024 to March 3, before a three-week holiday at the end of the term from April 8-26, 2024.
Second term two will run for 14 weeks, from April 29, 2024 and ending to August 2, 2024.
Half term break will be in between, from June 20-23, 2024. Learners will then go on holiday for another three weeks, beginning August 5-25, 2024.
As always, third term will be the shortest. It will last for 9 weeks from August 26 to October 25, 2024, paving way for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), and the Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA) examinations from October 28-31, 2024.
Afterwards, the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams will run from November 4-22, 2024.
Learners not in the 2024 KCSE cohort will be home for December holiday, that will run from October 28 to January 3, 2025.
Meanwhile, the teachers’ training colleges will open for term one from January 8 to April 5, 2024 and thereafter head on holidays from April 8-26, 2024.
Term two will start on April 29 and go until August 2, 2024. The holiday is scheduled for August 5-30, 2024.
The final term will go for 11 weeks from August 26 to November 8, before the long December holiday set for November 11 to January 3, 2025.
