Former Chelsea and Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard has announced his retirement from Professional football.
The 32 year old had been serving as a free agent after Real Madrid in an officiall press release on June 3 2023 confirmed that the Belgian had agreed to a mutual termination of the final year of his contract.
"You must listen to yourself and say stop at the right time." Hazard said on his official announcement on his Instagram page.
"After 16 years and more than 700 matches played, I have decided to end my career as a professional footballer."
"I was able to realise my dream, I have played and had fun on many pitches around the world."
"During my career I was lucky to meet great managers, coaches and teammates — thank you to everyone for these great times, I will miss you all."
"I also want to thank the clubs I have played for: LOSC, Chelsea and Real Madrid; and thanks to the RBFA for my Belgian Selection."

Hazard had also announced his retirement from international duty under the Belgium red Devils on December 7,2022 shortly after the end of the FIFA world cup in Qatar.
The star hangs his boots leaving an impressive career at clubs like Liile and Chelsea but struggle to gain his form at Spanish side real Madrid with injuries haunting him in a bigger part of his contract at the club.
He made over 190 appearances at Liile scoring 50 goals and Winning the French league 1 and the French cup before joining London Side Chelsea in June 2012 where his career hit a high summit.
At Chelsea he made 350 appearances scoring 110 goals and winning 2 Premier league titles, 2 Europa league titles, 1 FA cup and 1 EFL cup.
Hazard Moved on to Real Madrid in search for more sucess, however he played only 76 Matches scoring 7 times.
He won the UEFA champions league, the FIFA club world cup, two la liga titles, 1 Uefa super cup, 1 Spanish cup and one Spanish super cup.
