Teresa Oyolo Foundation has promised to donate 20 beds and mattresses to Rugunga Special School in Busia County as a way of supporting the needy children.
Speaking during the donation of books to the institution on Friday, Ronald Ondiege, the Director of the organization said the move will help some of the day scholars in the institution find boarding spaces at the facility.
“We want to thank the government for constructing a dormitory in this institution and we promise to provide bedding items once the facility is complete,” he said.
Ondiege disclosed that they also brought dignity kits for female pupils which can serve them for the next two months.
He at the same time said that the organization will also come up with mentorship programme on life skills for youth within Bunyala Sub County.
“We also have some empowerment programmes for women and widows,” he said.
The official further said that the foundation has plans to plant 50,000 fruit trees within this year within the Sub County.
“Beginning October this year, we will use learning institutions and women groups to plant these trees,” he said adding that the fruits will be economically and nutritionally helpful to the local community.
The organization has so far established a modern public library near Bumyala Sub County Commissioners office and provided piped water at Budalangi market.
