Kenya's Abel Kipsang came fourth in the 1500M men's finals also appearing as the only African to edge closer to the podium.
The 26-year-old chased the medal throughout the 1500m final, but just missed out at the death, finishing fourth in 3:29.89.
Britain’s Josh Kerr went for gold beating Olympic champion and gold medal favourite Jakob Ingebrigtsen to the title in a time of 3:29.38.
Ingebrigsten took the silver in 3:29.65 while another Norwegian, Narve Gilje Nordas, edged ahead of Kipsang for the bronze in 3:29.68.
Kenyans now shift focus to the 3000m women's Steeplechase finals where three Kenyans are expected to chase for a place in the podium.
All eyes will be set for Saturday's 5000m women's finals where Kenya's Faith Kipyegon will face fierce dutch sprinter Sifan Hassan after a dramatic semi-final heat last night.
