Nandi East Deputy County Commissioner, Leonard Mgute has assured enough security during the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examinations which are set to commence on the 30th of this month.

Speaking after receiving examination papers, Mgute noted that all necessary security measures have been put in place to guard the container that is used to store exams before the distribution date to various centres.

“Today we have received examination papers for the grade six candidates as well as the class eight candidates. Our security team is intact and we have organised them to ensure maximum security during the entire examination period. There will be two security officers guarding the examination container during the day and two during the night. Each centre will have two security officers and we have already briefed our officers on the same,” pointed DCC Mgute.

The administrator called on parents to ensure they give their candidates ample time to revise as well as encourage them so that they don’t panic when sitting for the exams.

He also urged residents to avoid unnecessary disturbances in terms of noise near examination centres adding security teams will be on the lookout to ensure a conducive environment as well as take action on those who will be found doing the contrary.

He at the same time warned parents not to be deceived to buy nonexistent exam leaks from dubious people.” There are no examination papers out there. Believe in your kids because their teachers have prepared them enough. Instead encourage them and pray for them,” he advised.

According to the DCC, Nandi East sub-county has 106 KCPE centres with a total of 4,248 candidates comprising 2,173 boys and 2,075 girls whereas in the KPSEA category there are107 centres and 3,526 candidates comprising 1,691 girls and 1835 boys.
