Ally B: Legendary musician is dead

Coast based musician Ali Khamisi Mwaliguli popularly known as Ally B is dead.
The legendary musician known for his hit songs 'Maria' and 'Bembea' among others was declared dead at a hospital in Mombasa, where he was rushed after complaints of feeling unwell.
He reportedly died from high blood pressure while other unconfirmed reports linked his death to pneumonia.
His fans, fellow musicians and politicians alike took to social media to share condolence messages, shortly after news of his demise filtered through.
"Oh Nooooo..This is the saddest news I have heard today. Ally B is no more. Rest in Power," wrote Benga superstar Suzzana Owiyo.
"I convey my heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and fans of Ally B, who passed on today in Mombasa," Senate Speaker Amason Jeffa Kingi wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
"Ally B was a talented artiste whose music featured prominently in the entertainment landscape both at the Coast, across Kenya and beyond our borders. We have lost a young and dynamic youth who was an inspiration to many upcoming artistes. May his soul rest in eternal peace," he added.
Ally B is among several musicians among them Nyota Ndogo, Nameless, Jua Cali and Nonini who took the Kenyan music scene by storm in early 2000s, with their longevity bordering on message oriented hit songs.
His other songs that continue to recieve massive airplay especially at the Coast include Kadzo, Naona Raha and Ziki La Nazi.
